What Current is

Current is a fishing companion that helps you decide what to throw, log catches, and share with friends. It's available as an iOS app and at current-fishing.com, which also hosts a tackle and apparel shop. By creating an account, using the app or website, or buying something from the shop, you agree to these terms.

Current is published by Current Fishing LLC (Michigan, USA). “We”, “us” and “our” in these terms mean Current Fishing LLC. If you need to reach us, email jbradfield@current-fishing.com.

Your account

You're responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your password to yourself. If you suspect someone else has access, sign out and reset your password.

Content you post

Catches you log, posts you share, comments you leave, and messages you send in trip chats are content you've created. You keep the rights to it. By posting, you give us the right to display it inside Current to other users you've chosen to share with.

No tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior

We do not tolerate content that is hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise objectionable. We do not tolerate users who harass, threaten, impersonate, or otherwise abuse other anglers. We do not tolerate spam, scams, or commercial solicitation.

If you post objectionable content or behave abusively, your account may be removed at our discretion. We act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours, including by removing the content and ejecting the user who posted it.

Reporting and blocking

Every post, comment, and chat message has a report option. Use it for anything you think violates these terms. You can also block other users from a profile screen. Blocked users disappear from your feed and comment threads instantly, and we're notified of the block so we can investigate.

Anti-cheat for catches and the map

Catches are tied to the GPS coordinates encoded in your photo's EXIF metadata, not your phone's current location. Catches without GPS still save but do not count toward map unlocks or location-based achievements. Submitting fabricated catch locations or otherwise gaming the map system may result in account removal.

Current Pro subscription

Some features are only available to Current Pro subscribers. The Pro features currently include the catch heat map, the 7-day bite outlook, the 48-hour conditions detail, the fish calendar, the AI fishing assistant, and up to 10 saved fishing spots and 6 rig presets. Current Elite is the tier that removes those caps. The free tier remains fully functional for everything else.

In the app, Pro is offered in three options through the App Store:

Pricing is in U.S. Dollars and may differ in your local currency based on the App Store price tier in your region.

Subscribing through the App Store

Pro and Elite subscriptions purchased in the app are auto-renewing subscriptions billed by Apple on iOS and by Google Play on Android. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews for the same term at the same price unless you cancel auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

You can manage your subscription, change auto-renew, or cancel at any time by going to your Account Settings on the App Store after purchase. If you started a free trial, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable. Pro Lifetime is a one-time purchase and does not auto-renew.

Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple. Submit refund requests through reportaproblem.apple.com.

Subscribing on the web

Pro can also be purchased at current-fishing.com/subscribe, billed by our payment processor, Stripe: Pro Monthly at $2.49 per month or Pro Yearly at $16.99 per year (U.S. Dollars). Web prices may differ from App Store prices. A web subscription unlocks the same Pro features in the app — your entitlement follows your Current account on every device.

Web subscriptions auto-renew for the same term at the then-current price unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period. You can cancel, switch plans, or update your payment method at any time from your account page. When you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for; we don't bill you again. Except where required by law, partial billing periods aren't refunded — if something went wrong with your billing, email jbradfield@current-fishing.com and we'll make it right.

If a renewal payment fails, we'll retry it; if it keeps failing, your subscription is paused or cancelled and Pro features lock until billing is fixed. If we change a subscription price, the new price applies from your next renewal and we'll tell you before it does.

The shop: tackle and apparel

The shop at current-fishing.com/shop sells fishing tackle shipped from U.S. warehouses and made-on-demand Current apparel produced by a U.S.-based print partner. Payments are processed by Stripe (tackle) and Shopify (apparel); we never see or store your card number. You can check out as a guest or with your Current account.

When you place an order, you're making an offer to buy; we accept it when we confirm the order. We may cancel and fully refund an order if an item is out of stock, was listed at an obviously wrong price, or can't be shipped to your address — we'll email you if that happens. Prices can change at any time, but never for an order you've already placed. Promo codes have the limits shown when you apply them (expiry, usage caps) and can't be exchanged for cash. You're responsible for entering an accurate shipping address; title and risk of loss pass to you when the carrier picks up your package.

Shipping times and costs, the return windows for tackle (30 days, unopened) and apparel (misprints, damage, or defects reported within 14 days), refund timing, and order cancellation are described in our Shipping & Returns policy, which is part of these terms. In short: you can cancel a tackle order from your account page while it still shows "Ordered"; once it moves to "Packing" it's being pulled at the warehouse and can no longer be cancelled online.

Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Profile. Deletion is irreversible. We delete your profile, catches, posts, lures, spots, friends, and trips. We retain anonymized aggregates and any moderation history.

No warranty

Current is provided as-is. Bite scores, lure recommendations, and weather are best-effort guidance, not guarantees of fish on the line. Fish responsibly: follow your local regulations, respect private property, and wear a PFD on the water.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app via the broadcast banner and reflected on this page with a new version number and date; continuing to use Current after a change means you accept the updated terms. The version of these terms in effect when you place a shop order is the one that applies to that order.
